I'm replacing the crankshaft on a 1997 MM 700 and need advice on pulling the flywheel. Any thing else I need to do before splitting the case?

use the correct plate style flywheel puller (not a 2 or 3 jaw) or you will either,
A. not get it off
b. ruin it getting it off

you can buy a puller at any auto parts store for about $10. it's fairly easy to remove.
