Hi.
I've replaced the stock 136' with a 144' on my -97 MM. Just wondering if someone knew if I needed Anti-Ratchet Drivers, or will it work with regular 8T??

The 97 MM came stock with 9 tooth drivers and a 136" track that was less than 2" (either 1.25 or 1.5"). Later in the year, Yamaha came out with a kit that included 8 tooth drivers, a new axle and a 2" track. Changing to a 144" by 2" track will not effect the drivers or the clearance between the tip of the track and the cooler, just means you need to extend the skid frame. But you already know all this. Anti rachet drivers means you can run your track with less tension. The tips of the drivers stick out of the windows a bit but will not cause clearance issues for the cooler. IMO, if the 136 was not slipping, then the 144 should not slip either. If you roll the chaincase you might want to run your track with a little less tension, causing driver slip, then maybe consider anti rachet drivers. I would put it together and try it.
