I'm looking at getting another Viper and the best price that I have received is 7699.00 Canadian plus tax on a 2003. This works out to roughly 5775.00 US. Does this sound reasonable or should I be able to get one lower. I was trying for a 2004 ViperS but there doesn't seem to be a lot of them around and they are not dropping the prices yet.

FYI - I just put money down on 2 2002 sx vipers for $3999 each (plus $395 set-up for each).

This same dealer also has 4 2003 SX vipers for $4999 each and 1 2002 sx viper with studs for $4499.

All are brand new - 0 miles. I will be picking up the 2 of them on Sat.

sx600,
How about some #'s for this dealer? I have a buddy looking to buy a viper! Where abouts in IL is this dealer located? Thank you.

I went and picked up 2 2002 vipers 2 weekends ago. Everything wen't pretty good. The '02 vipers ended up being
$3999 sled
$395 set-up
$432 YES (extra 3 year warranty)

They have 1 '02 left with studs for $4500 and have 3 or 4 '03's for $4999.

Ask for Mitch - tell him Tony sent you (maybe I'll get some credit from them - I've told a lot of people about this place due to the good deals they currently have).

tony, i called (thanks for the info) mitch told me he screwed up when you got your deal so that is why it was so cheap (something about a rebate that never was) . for me to buy the 02 it would be 5000.00 otd (not that great) the 03's were 5500.00 (without tax, that i'll have to pay when i register it.) i can buy a 04 here at home for about 6k, the prices they have are just the avg. i was hoping to get out of it for less than 5000.00 but it doesnt look like i'll be doing it with a yamaha. damn i am tired of looking for sleds. think i am gonna quit the sport. ski

that doesn't make any sense - they were listed on the internet for that price...

Well - I guess I'm glad I got that deal.

By the way - like I said earlier, I picked up the 2 vipers but they also sold another friend of mine a '02 trail mxz700 for $3999.

SKIDOOBOY - actually now that I'm thinking about this, that is about the right pricing.

My 2 I got were $3999 + $400 set-up = $4400.
The last '02 viper they have has studs and a windshield on it, thus they are asking a little more than mine were ($4599 + $400 = $4999).

The '03's they have left are $4999 + $400 = $5499.

I too have to pay sales tax in MN.

I figured the 2003's weren't worth the extra $1000. But, I am now having some work done on the 2002's due to the shocks. I will be spending $200-300 on the yamaha shock replacement or re-valving the stock shocks.

I also bought a new 1 1/4" track for $410.

The 2003's come with better shocks that shouldn't need any work done to them, a softer seat (this is also a potential problem with the 2002's) and a 1" track (vs. the .92 the 2002's come with).

Still don't know if it's worth the extra $1000, but when you look at how much I'm spending on the 2002 - maybe it is...

sx600,

I'd suggest adding a torque limiter and the rear heat exchanger. The torque limiter works great, I installed the Yamaha one. I never experienced over heating with my 02 Viper but it would spit coolant out of the recovery tank if I ran it hard. I installed the rear heat exchanger and it doesn't spit coolant anymore.

Last year in 03 I payed 5800 out the door for my sled in jan.So that too me is a terriable price.Shop around!
