just sent my cylinders to bender ,getting ported and polished what gains shoud i expect?.1995 vmax 600
about 10 to 12hp

more mid range pull, more top end pull ,or better out of the hole ?or better all around 
low end to mid range is where you will feel it the most.

50-44 helix does that sound right .would that be the best helix for the sled in a 660 drag race?

With that steep of helix, it'll run great in the trails, but you need to back it up with some serious traction to hook it up. The motor will pull it fine, but you'll do some spinning.

I had my sxr 600 ported and it didn't gain much at all,the problem was that the single pipe was too restrictive.
