Hi everyone!
The Munising Visitor's Bureau is sponsoring a "St. Patrick's Day Fun Run" March 14th - 17th. This is a first annual event and 1st place is $2,500. There are 10 places with place 2 through 9 equalling an additional $2,500. There is no entry fee, you just have to stay at one of the 15 Visitor's Bureau member motels and you will get a fun run card. In the 4 days of the event you have to get up to seven stamps on your card from any of the 10+ participating bars and restaurants. On Saturday night, you go to the American Legion in downtown Munising and get dealt your 7 card hand to make the best 5 card poker hand. The best hand wins $2,500 cash! There will also be 50/50 drawings, cash bar (transportation will be available back to the motel), and a silent auction.
I haven't seen too much response for this event, yet, so you may have a pretty good chance at some money! Remember, local people cannot participate, well, unless they rent a room. We have room specials here at the Alger Falls for that weekend.
