Last year we had alot of fun, and a foot of snow every day we were in Munising! It was kinda crazy, but we always manage to have a blast.

Last year I learned that there are other folks who like to ride like I do, and I figured I'd be proactive and see who can go, and who'd like to make a group.

Rich always takes a gaggle of folks through the woods, gets lost, finds alot of snow, and is back before lunch!hehe

For those who want to put on some miles and see some 'stuff', sign up here. We'll ride at a good pace, not recklessly, but faster than most. I am a stickler about riding for the group though. When I'm leading, I always like to know what the last person is doing, and always stick to the rules of the trail. Keep the person behind you in sight, and stop if they lose you.

I have some routes in mind, and we'll disscuss them and consider conditions once we're up there. We'll get some first hand reports and go from there.

I'm absolutely up for suggestions, as there are always things I've yet to see up there, and if there are any play areas anyone would like to hit, I'd be thrilled!

I plan on hitting Kingston Plains for sure, and wasting some time in there. Usually the powder is deep and plentiful.

we'll get lunch in Grand marais and gas up, and who knows from there, where ever there's snow!

Here's a pic of the little group we had last year, what a blast!

While it might be a bit of a jaunt for some, Taquamenon Falls is a neat stop that has a great restaurant and brew pub right at the falls.

A buddy and I made that run from Ishpeming and back one day last March but that was kind of pushing it. Shouldn't be too bad starting out of Muni.

Just a thought...

They've got some great cocoa there too! Christy and I stopped once while staying in Grand Marais, very neat place!

We could try to make that a stopping point on the first day. I think the saturday might be slower going, due to trail conditions and picking and choosing our way on backroads, that kinda thing. How many miles would that be Steve?

Not sure of the mileage John but I know it's a bit less than two tanks of fuel. We did the trip on a Sunday so the trails were pretty decent.

On the way back, we left Paradise at around 6:00 PM and arrived in Grand Marais 15 minutes before the gas station closed. We warmed up in the brew pub for quite a while as the temps had dropped to -25 and it was snowing horizontally. Can't remember when we left the brew pub but we pulled into the gas station next to the casino in Christmas at midnight.

We warmed up for about forty five minutes then rode to Ishpeming, arriving outside the motel at 2:15 AM, eighteen hours, forty five minutes and 450 miles after we started.

That was a little much but it was our last ride of the season.

If we go which we probably will be up in grand marais anyways well come over and ride with ya john had fun with ya in ontario we'll have to ride more in the lower around fredric??

man them their pictures are awesome especially that second one. was i ever in for a suprise when all that snow came up over the hood and right down my opened jacket what i would give right now to be doing that right now can't wait!

Gerby, you gotta know that I want to hit that spot again! This time, I'll have fresh batteries! I didn't get any of those sweet jumps you guys were pulling... :(

That's at the 'pitstop' behind toll hill, up North Kolka Creek Rd. we always stop there, as it's so peaceful with the sleds off.

We've found so many back country trails and fields in Frederic, I'm just in love with the area. If I can find a nice little piece of land up there, I'll creme my jeans!

Keep an eye open for property for sale up that way for me! We're dreaming about a few acres, say 10, with a polebarn and a loft above it...sounds like heaven!hehe

Cameron Bridge Rd...great road! There are always those 2 'bumps' that send you flying! I hit one on my wife's sled at oh...80mph! I don't know how high I was, but I flew a LONG WAY. I love that area!

for sure! i know the area like the back of my hand. we can usually ride 3 to 4 weeks after the trails are shot in the spring by traveling back trails.

sorry to jack your munising post!

No sweat, hehe.

Keep your eyes peeled, really!

Last year, we did our last ride up there, the trails were dirt, but we had a blast none the less! We seem to always find some back country to roam every time we go.

Sometime's thing change without notice..

Christy's pregnant again! So, she'll be sitting out the Munising ride :(

But, everything is still a go on my end, hehe. Can't wait! Who else is in?

vmaxjohn, what are the dates? Would like to hook up with you guys, I have a place in Seney. I may stay there and ride to Muni to hook up.

Important TY ride Info !!!

There has been a change of plans for the TY ride on Jan 23,24,25.We are moving to the Best Western just down the road.I have rooms reserved for us there under Totallyamaha/Rich Motorsports but i would call early and get your room.We are moving there because we have so many people coming and if we have one central location it will be much easier to park and to ride out of and to get together for night time fun.Follow the link below for further info and some pictures. Thanks Rich
