There Are a bunch of kids in my art class that say a 1998 zr 600 with a pipe silencer supposedly has a 136 in 2.5 inch track and a fuel injection chip with boysen reeds and a clutch from black magic will totally kick my 2001 srx 700 with hauck silencer, Hauck clutch kit #4,M-10,1.5 inch paddle track and my heads are cut 30 teneths who will win. they say it will do 115 to 120 mph and that is hard for me to believe anyone know what a stock 98 zr 600 has for horse and what my 2001 srx 700 has stock.
Mike

Horsepower on the ZR 600s is about 115-120 if I remember right. Unless something is wrong with your SRX, there is no way a ZR 600 should even be close to you in a race. I raced a 98 and a 99 one day and it was not even a challenge, and this was before I had clutching and traction where I wanted it. I wouldn't even waste my time with those two sleds today. The M-10 on your SRX will hurt your holeshot a bit, but I still think you should walk on that sled fairly easily.

My 600 SRX clutched would destroy any 600 cat i ran up against. My good bud had a 99 with pipes, clutched & set up to race & he still could not beat my SRX. The kids are dreaming!!!!

thats what i thought

thats what i think to does anyone else have any input

LMAO smack that kid upside the head, he must be stupid to think that. MY uncle has a 99 zr 600 shorty with the black magic twin pipes and clutch kit v force 3's in it its not even a contest against my srx. They aint even close his 600 probably goes 100 with a 136 and a big ole track slowing it down and maybe not even that. No contest ;)!

I had a 98 ZR 600 and it won't even come close to a SRX. Stock horsepower on a carbed one is only 102-104. Mine topped out at about 105-110 on the dream meter and that was a 121 inch.
