Trails up here are 10 out of 10! Huge base with tons of powder to play in when off trail and the local club is out about every other day grooming. I've rode on most of the major trail systems in MN and the club up here has some of the best kept trails.

Lakes have 10+inches of ice and some slush due to the heavy amounts of snow. You won't see it unless you dig down thru the base to do some ice fishing.

Good to know, I need to take a road trip......I'll do a search on distance from home and lodging options....

Nick,

There is one resort open during the winter and it's thunderbird, but are are 3-4 nice motels right in town a couple of blocks from the trail that goes thru town. I'd offer up our spare guest cabin and nite time parking in the garage for the sleds for super cheap, but the cabin is packed with all the stuff that needs to go back into the garage once the wiring and insulation are finished...sorry...will be ready for next year!
