Looking for suggestions,
Do the clutch rollers need to be lubed if so with what? It's a Advant-edge roller rooster on a 2000 SX700R.
Thanks Greg

I have been running the advant-edge roller for 4 seasons now. Spray the inside of the rollers with wd-40 in the spring when you summerize the sled & spin em around a few times. That is basically all the lube the rollers need & will last a long time with an annual lube.

Yamaha does not make a factory roller secondary. We are talking about the steel rollers that support the helix on the secondary on an advant-edge roller secondary.

Whatever you do, don't lube the rollers with oil or clutch lube regularly. The rollers and weights need to be clean and dry at all times. The roller needs "traction" on the weight in order to "roll". Lubing the rollers will cause the roller to slide on the weight, and eventually cause flat spots on the roller itself. Lubing the clutch will also collect belt dust and other crap etc. I like to use starter fluid to spray on clutch parts to clean them out then blow it out with air. It's okay to use a little bit of lube on other parts of the clutch, but keep it away from the rollers.

We are talking about the secondary rollers on an aftermarket roller secondary set up just for clarification here.
