Hey team Yammy!
Just picked up an 03 sx viper mountain and the primary and secondary sheaves are done.
It is near impossible to find an sx viper mountain parts sled. But there are many 1997 SX 700, SXR 700, SRX 700's , Venture 600/700 etc.
Will the primary and secondary clutches on these be the same as my sx viper mountain?
I can easily swap the weights, if that is the only difference.
Thank you for the help!

secondary will be the same once you swap the helix in of any sx chassis sled. primary will be the same on the later model sleds as there was a short cover primary clutch availible for the primary on the early sx sleds. weight swap would be nessasary unless it was exact same set up as yours.

Thanks for the reply. When you say There was a short cover primary clutch on the early sx sleds.. Is this 97-00 range? Or before 97?
Also, will any sx viper primary clutch work in a sx viper mountain?

i do not know the years for sure with the short cover but i do know 97 had short cover as bro had one. you can just swap your tall cover over to make it a tall cover clutch.
sx viper clutch is the same as sx viper mountain other than weights and springs.

Things to swap over.
Primary Clutch
1. Weights
2. Spring
3. Rollers
4. Tall cover if necessary
Secondary Clutch
1. Helix
2. Spring

Thanks all.
I had to replace one of the sheaves on my secondary. Does it matter that I am using the original inner sheave with a new outter sheave from another sled in terms of balancing? Are the drill hole marks on the sheaves to balance just that single sheave or for the entire assembly? Just wondering if now that I have two different sheaves together will the secondary be out of balance and is there anything I can do for that?

i was told each clutch part was balanced separately by a yamaha tec. i have combined secondary parts before with no ill effects.
