This may go back further than many members ages, but from like the 80's I believe the Enticer and Exciter models all ran the same belts, but I recall these were all 1 1/4" wide. This may also have been the case up until they switched from the YPZ drive clutch and secondary to the YXR models and I believe they only changed in width to a 1/3/8" length remained the same? I'm sure there were exceptions i.e. Vmax 4, possibly others. Was this correct?

i do know that they changed the rubber compound as you went higher hp in the sleds. sx500r and srx 700 used same legnth belt but the 500 belt was softer than the tripples. wish i would have seen this when i had the et in the garage as i do have a new vk540/phazer II/exciter belt hanging in garage atm.

Are you talking 440 exciters or 570?
Almost all late 70's and early eighties sleds ran the 820 belt, but I think the ypz primary had a slightly wider belt, and then when the yxr clutch came out in the early nineties the belts became wider again. Yes, the belt length has stayed the same for decades, and even the Viper and Sidewinder belt length is only very slightly longer.
About 10 years ago I had someone bring me an 88 exciter with a junk primary clutch. I put a primary on it from a 1999 model, then just shimmed the secondary to the right width and ran the 8dn belt.
