Hello, long time SRX creeper and soon to be owner. Picking up an 01 and it’s been sitting since 2008. The previous owner, stated he put the sled away because he had an issue with the throttle. When letting off the throttle the motor would rise 500 RPMs and then come down. Has anyone else has had these problems? Any suggestions or input would be appreciated immensely on this issue.
And a list of parts that I should stock up or look for for this sled would be appreciated as well. Thank you for your time. Have a great day.

First get her all cleaned up. Definitely clean carbs and powervalves. Check the throttle cable and make sure its not to tight. Should have some free play (side to side movement).
From going faster or back at idle?

The original owner stated, it would rev up in rpm's after he let off the throttle. Then the motor would idle down. So a burst of RMP's after lifting off the throttle. Sounds like a carb boot issue. But he said boots were fine.
sounding like the needles need to be raised a bit. this was common on the sx viper sleds back in the day as they where a bit lean mid range.
Hanging idle? Open up fuel screws or upsize pilot jets if you know where the needles are set
