Hello friends, blew a piston Sunday and checked the carbs first thing, is it normal for the middle carb to look like this. Blew the middle piston twice in 2 years IMG_0480.jpeg

Also forgot to mention, the top of the clutch side carb has a hose attached to the air box, didn’t think this was normal

Don't know what you are referring to on the middle carb.
Some info:
-always run the highest octane on these sleds you can get at the pumps.
-the carbs have a small screen filter underneath the brass float needle valve that can become plugged and you have to remove the needle valve brass seat from the carb bodies to get at them. I call them "Top Hat" filters and always permanently discard them when cleaning these types of carbs.
-the Viper tends to be lean especially at mid throttle so it was always suggested to raise the needle 1/2 clip[both plastic washers under the needle clip] from the stock setting....ensure no one has moved the needle clips higher then stock. Do a search on the website for lots of info on this
-on the Vipers the carb vent lines were routed into the airbox from the factory.
