1997 VMAX SX 700 wont rev past 3k, starts and idles just fine but when you try to give any throttle it cuts out and back fires out the exhaust. The TORS is disconnected ever since I bought it. New plugs, belt and sparkplug wires. Went through the carb and everything is fine and clean. No idea whats wrong and any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Stator? Just throwing out an idea for you.
If the tors is bypassed then stator.

Did you unplug the TORS or bypass it? It has to be bypassed.
