2004 venom electrical issues

My dash won't come on when headlights are plugged in. If I unplug one, it works alright but dims when I hit the brakes. I pulled the harness from under the engine, checked every wire and had no rub throughs. I also put a new oem Yamaha stator in and still no better. I don't know what to do from here.

Did you check the hood harness? Ground good? Wires going to bars all good. Sounds like a short somewhere.

Does it do the same thing if either one of the bulbs is unplugged?

is the right amperage getting to the lights?
