Is it possible to change the PTO end crank piece without pressing the rest of it apart? Of all the engine work I've done to my SRXs over the years I've never delved too much into crank work, always relied on an a machine shop to do to many repair work.

Might depend on the crank. Just pressed apart a 92 Venture and an earlier model Phazer. Both 485's and inter changable. Thought they were the same but the crank pin on the PTO end of the 92 is part of end piece. On the earlier model the crank pin is splined and pressed. I could press the splined end piece off but not the one off the 92. I had to start at the mag end and work my way to finally press out the PTO end.
