Found an extremely mint 2000 srx I’m really thinking about buying. Was this a good year for the srx? Any common problems on this year and how does it compare to other years? It has heel clickers vforce reeds ceramic coated stock pipes Öhlins in front and rear

Ohlins in the rear ?
Those are $750 to $1000 right there. Very rare.
2000 was the first year for dual bulb headlight.
Also has better cylinder porting and bigger stator output.

Its in really good shape with a fresh top end done at dealer. I believe it’s got 3000 miles on it and he’s asking 2200

My favorite is 2001, it has no DCS, and the silver trailing arms and tunnel.
The 2000 is kinda a one off year.

6000 miles isn’t that bad.
The 2000 is the only year of all blue sled, with dual bulb headlight.
Also, the wiring harness and cdi is a one off year as well.

Check to see if it has rear Ohlins. Just because it has the fronts, doesn’t mean it has them in the rear.

How much do they want for it?

Yes it has rear Ohlins aswell. 2200

If it’s in good shape, that’s not too bad.
Is it a Canadian sled ?
No it’s a southern sled that’s been hauled in enclosed trailer. I’m just nervous about crank having 6000 miles on it.. I mean how long before a bearing starts to go bad ya know? Especially since these sleds are high strung

SRX motors go a long time. I think others will agree.
Buy it, and if it makes you feel better, put new pistons and rings in it.
Offer him $1800 to help offset the parts.

It has a fresh top end pistons and rings 300 miles ago done by dealer. Those also did a leak down test(paper work and records included) which was fine. But the bottom end has all original seals and such that makes me a little nervous

yup, just gonna add not to be scared of the bottom end. seen them go for years with no issued with decent oil used.

hope you get it!

Won’t go any lower than 2250.00 for sled only! Would like to sell the whole package for 2500.00.

Package includes: cover, 2 gal interceptor oil, interception gear case oil, hyfax, curve specific carbides, clutch puller, manual with all records and setup records, 2 belts, spare plugs, msc. Bolts, spare rear bogie wheels, tps measurement tool.
