This post is from forever ago. Sorry I did not see it sooner. The stock normal engagement was just over 4,000 rpm with optional springs that would take you near 5,000 rpm. This was really just a trick though to keep it under the 5,000 rpm max engagement rules for racing that were so common at the time. At 4,000 rpm the machine would move satisfying the rules, but the stock weights were designed to be power braked to up over 7,000 rpm for launch. A 7,000 rpm launch is pretty fun trust me. It isn't exactly the easiest on the belts though.
