    Default 89 vmax 540 clutch setup

    Hi I am running a bender racing 1 inch keyed jack shaft with Polaris secondary and red Polaris secondary spring at A2 setting with an Polaris 045 belt looking for primary clutch set up or has anyone else run a Polaris secondary on these machines thanks

    I don't have any info on the Polie stuff other than to say use a p-85 primary to run with it.

    I used primary and secondary off of 95 or 96 Vmax 600. Primary has the right bore depth for the crank and the secondary fits the stock 540 jackshaft. Stock 600 settings are close to what you will need for trail on the 540. May need to shim for engagement. Both primary and secondary are VERY tough clutches with many tuning options.

    PS, This is the correct Gates belt # for 1 3/8" belt on a 540 Vmax. The Polaris and 600 Vmax setup will require it.

    Only Yamaha sold a 102 for them. Comet sold a 108 replacement.
