I was changing fuel lines from fuel pump to the carbs and there was oil in the fuel lines any reason why

The oil gets mixed with gas in the fuel pump then goes to your carbs.

check valve in the oil line is leaking.
Only check valve there is is between oil pump and fuel pump, couldn’t have any bearing on anything
