Hey guys
so I got a "deal" on a 02 sx viper and ended up putting a lot of new parts includibg a couple pistons. I took it out for a test ride and it blew a belt, revved way up and wouldnt shut off. finally dies so put a new belt on it and rode it home to check compression and all three cylinders were at 90 pounds which they were between 120 and 125 before taking off. So I know I need to rebuild it but guess my question is which would you prefer to do for a cheaper fix. rebuild it as stock (69mm) with new jugs and everything, bore it out and put a sleeve in it to bring it back to stock, or bore it out to 73 mm. And if I bored it to 73 would I have to get a new head and special gaskets? i cant even find big bore pistons.

I would find some nice used cylinders off eBay.
Yamaha pistons are best, but I just rebuilt my brother in laws with SPI to save some money.
They seem to be the best aftermarket piston.

If you start boring or sleveing, now you need to have cut power valves, special gaskets, head cut ect.
I am going through that process now with a 835 I am refreshing.
