Question for you guys. My starter is grinding alot when I try and start my sled. The ring gear teeth look fine as does the starter teeth. The starter teeth are a bit worn but not bad. When I try and start it it looks to me as the starter gear doesn't stay extended long enough to catch. Sometimes it will catch but most times not. Is something in my starter failing or should I be looking more at the teeth even though they look good

Starter failing, Just went through this. I thought of rebuilding it but settled on just replacing with used one off eBay. Just a heads up I first replaced it with a new cheap aftermarket one and burned that up in less then a season. Complete junk, don’t waste your time and money. The used OEM ones still going strong years later.
