hey all,

I have a Yamaha GS 340 with only about 1,000 miles on it. Bought it local and is very clean. After about 100 trouble free in the Yard miles this winter, on a very cold day the front drive axle broke right before the first cog about a 1/3 of the way down the axle. The break was not rusted so it looked clean and new.

Question, what would cause this? Any history with this happening on this sled?

Secondly, can I replace with anything newer or do I have to find an OEM part?

Thirdly, if I have to replace with an old OEM part does anyone have one for sale?

Thanks all!!

wow that sucks.

how tight was the track? might have been hurt from an old rock hit on drive cogs.

run a lot of enticers over the years and have screwed the shaft from bearing failure but never broken one.

how good is the track as they are unavailible now.

if you cannot find one on evilbay, caigs list or kijiji, i would look for a 88-90 enticer trapper with reverse and steal the chain case and drive axle out of it as it has the 2.52 pitch drivers on it witch is still fairly easy to find a track for in the 121" legnth.
