Hauck Husher Pipes
YAMAHA 600/700SX(R) Triple
1. Remove hood cable clip and attach to a stationary position. Ex; Right side of shock tower.
2. Remove all springs, muffler, exhaust pipe, Y pipe, be sure to save the manifold bolts, you will need them later to mount the new flanges.
3. Two protection plates are included. One should be riveted to the MAG side shock tower and the MAG pipe will rest on it. The second plate mounts so the hole matches the exhaust outlet hole in the pan. The bent-up side goes toward the outside of the pan.
4. Locate the metal clip attached to the hood that secures the wiring harness from lying on the pipes. Open the clip and move the harness toward the outside of the hood, bending the metal clip the opposite way to secure the harness again, keeping it off the pipes.
5. Install the flanges reusing the stock gaskets and adding Hi-Temp silicone to prevent leakage. It may be easier to put the springs in the holes before installing the flange.
6. Install the MAG pipe (2 dots on the header pipe). This pipe will rest on the shock tower plate from step 3. Fasten the pipe with a 2” spring the spring eyelet on the front aluminum bulkhead.
7. Install the CENTER pipe (3 dots on it) next. This pipe should rest on the aluminum crossbar and fastened with a spring to the MAG pipe. It is important that this pipe fits all the way down on the cross bar, otherwise the PTO pipe may hit the hood. This outlet should be closest toward the chassis.
8. The PTO pipe (1 dot on it) goes in last. It will lay on top of the center pipe and crosses over with the silencer. The outlet should be in the hole toward the outside of the pan. Fasten to the center pip with a 2” spring.
9. Attach the hood wire to the extra loop on the center pipe.
10. Take care to reroute and wiring away from the exhaust.
ATTN: Double check all bolts and springs and make sure instructions are followed correctly. Remove long gray foam liner from PTO side of the hood. Now check hood clearance by removing clutch guard. Shut hood, and look through the tank shroud vent holes with a flashlight making sure there is proper hood clearance on each side. (5/8 of an inch minimum). When pipes are installed properly, they will not touch the hood. We are not responsible for negligence! Jetting and clutching are very important to the performance of this product, although we can only get the jetting close, it is your responsibility to check plug color and prevent burn downs. All jetting specs are with the stock Yamaha air box fully intact, unless otherwise mentioned. We also stress the importance of burning a minimum of 92-octane fuel. (Maintain caution when using an oxidized fuel.)
See charts or call for recommendations.
*NOTE* These pipes are designed for use with other Hauck Performance Products. Our catalog will have all the extras you need, call for details. Thank you for choosing Hauck Power Sports, and have a safe and fun season.
