Does anyone have a good gas tank for a 76 or 77 440 exciter. the tank has a center mounted cap on the top of the tank. Please let me know if you can help...thanks...Nick.
i don't know whats wrong with the tank you have but years ago i stuck a stud through the tunnel and punchured my tank i used this stuff called seal-all it comes in a yellow tube with red lettering it will stop gas leaks even when gas is still leaking out check your local hardware or i do have a tank off a 300 enticer the cap is off to left hand side?

GPX tank wil also work if you can find one. The only difference is the gas line hooks to the bottom in the rear and you have to use a inline fuel filter. I just put a GPX tank in my 76 Exciter since the cap was busted like most older Yamaha's
