I have a chance to buy all Kawasaki's between 1980-1987...they havent been ran in several years.

2-js300's
2-js400's
2-js550's
and a 650x2

So what's it all worth?

I had a nice limited built X2, it was a great ski, but one that can bite you as well.

I would say in not been running condition, maybe 2500 tops for all of them. Are the 2 440's or 400's??

JS300's are a single cylinder, be lucky to get $500 for them each
JS400's are the original skis, I think they quit making them in the 1979/80 time frame and went to the 440. JS400's lucky for get $500 for them each
js550's went from 82-90ish. I have seen a 550sx with the piston port engine, but most 550sx were the piston port reed engines.
The 650SX wasn't bad very stable hull design, but your gonna be hard pressed to get it past 45MPH, no matter how much HP you throw at it. The hull is a stable hull, not a high speed hull.

I would say $2000-$2500 for them would be ok.
I sold a mint 1989 or so JS440 5 or 6 years ago for for $650.

The 300's will barely get out of their own way, and the 400/440 isn't much better. The 550 is a pretty good ski, lots of fun.

I probably have parts for them laying around somewhere.
I sold all of my kawi skis and now have 2 superjets, and an FX1.

Sorry for the rant but for about 6 years jetskis were my life. Now they haven't been ridden in over 2 years!

Now that I think about it friend had a js400 1976 that he sold in pieces, as well as an 82 js550.

He bought it thinking it was a 1980 440 or so and it didn't run. We got to messing around and found out it was a 1976 model so it had to be a 400.

From 94 until 2000 jet skis were my life as well.

I wonder if the x2 hull was similar to the sx hull, since that x2 despite its limited race class mods would only do around 45 or so. But 0-45 was CRAZY fast.

I someday want a standup again for goofing around, but we still have a SL650 that has been bored and stroked to around 700cc's.

Around here, people hate jet skis, to the point of not being able to ride them without getting hassled by the DNR every time, and getting tickets each summer for no reason. I got more "no wake" tickets than I want to remember, even if those tickets were not justified. Of course the warden's word is gospel, and the rider's is not worth anything.

I replaced my PWC with a ski boat and I wakeboard and goof around in tubes behind it. No hassles from the MAN since....

I lived on a lake, actually still have a lake, and every day after work I would burn a tank through it. That was of course when gas was well under $2.00.

I had a TS650- it was ok, stable as all get out, but my sisters still flipped it.
An HX 720 and it was a fun ski, but I got too fat to get on it
Still have a Seadoo XP, 93 WRIII 701, 2 650 SJ, and a FX1. The FX1 is my absolute favorite, it was a demo, I bought it in 1999 brand new as the dealer couldn't sell it. It has been bulletproof. I bought mine and my friends rode it, and they went on the quest to get them. Basically it is a JS550 hull, with a 701 engine in it. If you can hang on and find smooth enough water, it will run about 53mph. With a stock engine.
Just pipe, cdi, and prop.
