Father and daughter viper project!!

Got the tunnel wrap done. Also set up the rox sled treds to see how it looks and its simply awesome!!!! You used to be able to buy these colored inserts for the rox sled treds that went under them so you could see your choice of color through the holes. So im trying some blaze purple plasti dip. Not sure how it will hold up but the rox are over them so they wont get any wear just the snow and water and some heat from the exchangers. If it doesent hold no biggie just peel it up and try somthing else. But for know it looks bad azz. The tunnel wrap was wwwaaaayyyy harder then the hood. The vinyl is much thincker and stickier to work with. It turned out good but i see the imperfections as i always do.

Got the front end back together today, everything went well except a rookie powder coat mistake. I did not block off the steering ends that fit on the end of the spindle when i powder coated them. Well the splines would not fit together. So a lot of sanding, scraping and a few choice words i got them to fit on the spindle. A few nicks that can be touched up but you wouldnt even notice them if looking but i know they are there. But over all very happy so far, skid in tomorrow!!

She still needs a heart (engine) but all the hard work on the powder coat and wrap looks absolutely awesome. This thing went well beyond our expectations! We will get the engine in sometime next week. Having elizabeth help with getting the skid in made it so much better. I hate getting them big heavy 144" proactions back in place, LOL!

Man that turned out great! And the white screens really makes the colors pop on the hood.
I think a set of purple ski's would look really nice on it.

Took the time to read this all the way from start to finish! Loved reading this! I would really like to do my fiance's sled very similar to yours! Did you guys design your own wrap? Who and where did you get it from? Also how is all the powdercoat holding up? I would really like to do that on my own sleds. I have an Apex and a SRX but starting to find I cant find parts like I used to for the SRX UGHHH!!!! :(

We used the wrap design from “edge wraps”. It was predesigned and we changed up the colors to how we wanted. I must say it was beyond our expectations. It has held up fantastic. All of my backwoods powder coating has also held up great. For a harbor freight job there has been no chipping or peeling of the paint and the colors have not faded a bit. Thanks for checking it out I really had a blast building this sled with her. She is the talk of the parking lot wherever we go! https://m.ebay.com/itm/Sled-Wrap-Sn...m=502172950727&_trksid=p2056116.c100890.m2460

Can you give me an idea how you did your powdercoat oven? The homemade one? It really was inspiring the whole thread you guys reallllllllly did a nice job with it. Also any information on the LED stuff would be lovely too! :)

For my oven I bought a 1500w coil hot plate. To do the rails I cooked them in a piece of round duct work over the top of the hot plate with a lid. Suspended them from a rod at the top. For the oven I used the biggest square return duct I could find. It’s like 4ft x 2ft. Then 4ft high. Or close to that don’t remember off top of my head. Then riveted a bottom on it and made a top. The bottom I cut out a hole to set it over the coil hot plate. Also covered it in fire rated insulation board. Temps vary but these don’t have to get very hot and you can very your cook time if cooking at lower temps. Big thing is controlling heat. I bought a PID controller of eBay that you can set a temp on and the controller will run the hotplate. If you have the space and room with a 220 outlet a old electric oven works the best. That’s the jist of the ovens. Google it tons of good info on it. The led lights I got off eBay. https://www.motorcycleledlights.com...MIju71o4OB2QIVlhuBCh2QNAUpEAQYBCABEgLFIPD_BwE You do need a battery to run them but they are cool. Put them in the screens on the hood and under the running boards. Very bright glow. Put some set on my wife’s golf cart at the cabin.
