been away but looking at a couple sleds
2001 SXR 1200 mi. $3,000.00
2005 RX1 5200 mi. $3,600.00
Both really clean, I'm thinking the RX1.. but looking for advice...had a couple red triples in the past.
thanks

3k seems way high for an sxr even considering the low miles
I know but you just don't find real cherry ones any more...so

Way over priced get one for 1500-2000 and use the 1500-1000 you save on new parts with 0 miles. Sxr!!
A couple of bucks

Aside from the price, go with your gut feeling. I have ZERO qualms with either sled.

Both good sleds. To me it would come down to what type of riding you do.

Agree, 2 quite different sleds, so pick the one that suits you best. 3K is a little high for the SXr, but if it worth to you who cares. Value depends on the buyer. For $4500 you should be able to get into the next generation Apex line.

Yeah i agree. Get a deep lug track with that $1000.00 to $1500.00 and some other mods. I have not owned an RX1. But i do have a mm700 and a 700sx. Both great sleds.

Bought a SXR-700 3 years back for 2600 w/2.5k on it in very minty condition. Put about 1k on it. It has been a great sled for trail running. Not much suspension travel compared to new machines but not bad for the field trails we run on. My son now rides it and it does a great job. We are adding reverse and electric start this summer. It has been a near flawless sled for 3 years now. The only problem was a slight anti freeze leak for the carb warmer valve. Replaced for about $12. So far that's it for repairs. The PO took super care of it and it looked close to new and still does. No experience with the RX1, but the SXR is a super reliable sled and quality build. My 2015 viper has a nicer suspension but the SXR can run right with it especially on the flatter twisties.
