Looking for a bushing kit for a 1981 SRV. It needs more than just the shim kit. Not wanting to spend the Oem price. All the kits I see don't list for sleds that old.

The TSS bushing kits are all the same 80-96 except 92-96 Vmax/VM4. The only issue is the ski bolt collar is going to be too big for the 87 and earlier pogos. If you have a machine shop near by they could take off the extra for you. I believe the kits are available from kimpex or there is a guy in Ohio that makes them too if I recall correctly. I seem to remember either kit was around $40

Any opinions if there are better manufactured shim kits for the 94-96 Vmaxs?

I have used some no name packed kits from Fowler and the sno stuff kits. The sno stuff kits look nicer, but you dont see any of the parts once bolted on. So far they both seem to work fine. The Fowler kits are about $15 less than the sno stuff

T.S.S. Maintenance
On most every used T.S.S. sled I've bought the Knuckles and steel bushing are frozen and completely locked up and pivoting on the bolts to the point where the locked up joints won't even allow the springs to return let, alone the struts to work when hitting a bump. The T.S.S sleds have always gotten a bad rap for slop developing when the ungreased steel bushing's freeze up they grind away on the nylon washers ! I have sleds that are 20+ years old that have never had a bushing kit and are almost as tight as new. Just take the knuckles and the ski mounts apart every other year and grease !
