I have a 1997 Venture 2 up with a 136" Pro Action skid. Can this skid go directly into a 2002 Viper? I figured I would swap the springs- I assume the shocks are the same between the 2 sleds?

I also would like to take the reverse from the Venture and install it into the Viper- is this possible?

What about the electric start? Will this swap?

The Venture is a 2 cylinder 600.

Thanks a lot for any info!

The electric start from the Venture will swap over from what i've seen so that's great.

I'm still trying to figure out the reverse setup, but so far it also looks like a direct swap.

This will all swap as long as you use all reverse gears and chain, viper chain and gears are hyvo. Venture is silent.

The 136 can be used as long as your swaping out your inner bracing. The front arm bolts the same but the center and rear arm bolt in different locations further back. The running board heaters are longer and also have larger ends. If the viper is stock, you would be fine to just reduce down the fittings. If your piped, have larger fittings welded on. I use these exact board heaters on my apex with changed out fittings. The shocks are not the same between the sleds but are the same length. You could use your shocks on this skid. Not sure where you will be with settings on the rear as it now has more leverage on, you, the largest weight at the rear of the sled. My guess is spring tension will be lessened. While you have it out, check out the links below to make the skid work it's best. On that 136, there are some wheel configurations shown that will really make that thing roll and you will never need slides again.

Thank you very much for the info.

I took the chaincases apart last night on both the Venture and the Viper and I did notice the chain.

I assumed that the Viper chain was more robust, do I need to worry about using the Venture chain, it sounds like it isn't an issue?

I didn't realize I would need to swap out the tunnel bracing, that sounds like a bit of work.

I noticed the heat exchangers on the Venture last night extend to the back as you stated, so I can't rob the tail off the Venture as I had planned unless I want to buy different exchangers. Bummer.

Now i am wondering if converting the Viper to a 136 is even worth doing.... I will need a tunnel extension and a whatever swapping the bracing entails....
