Picked up an old Phazer to (hopefully) get the rear suspension mounted in my mint SS440.
Anyway, was wondering about this piece......does the inner shaft come out? I have been soaking it in penetrating oil, but it still won't come out. Think I am gonna need a torch on it.
Here's a pic of my 1983 Vmax.......the part looks almost the same as the Vmax. It's the bottom suspension part.
And here's a link to a parts diagraghm, but I can't see where there is a shaft in the bracket.

Any input on this bracket would be appreciated. Thank you.

Yes that is suppose to come out. I am sure because of the metal differences from the alum to steel its corroded and wont budge.

I am not opposed to buying new parts. I can find the bracket easy enough, but can't find any info on the inner shaft.
Send me the diameter and length of that shaft maybe even the dimensions of the arm and everything and I may have the parts that you need.

Thank you for your research and links!!!! Gonna take my parts to my buddy and let him put some extreme heat on them, in hopes it will loosen the shaft. If not, no biggy, since I can order new parts if need be........thanks again, it really helped!!!

Take it to a machine shop and have them bore the shaft out. My guy does it for around $15 for those little shafts and a bit more for the bigger ones. Its really the best way to get them out without damaging anything. A new shaft is around 5 or 6 bucks.

now those are mint sleds! I can't stand it when people say their sled is mint and really it's a POS! You do need a new wheel on the vmax though...
