So I went to my "local" Yamaha dealership and ordered the "Big Boy" spring for the rear shock in my SRX. They had to order it so it took about 3 weeks for it to arrive from Japan. When they called and said it was in I asked what my bill was. With that spring and a green secondary spring my total bill was $137.90!!! $107 of that was the Big Boy spring. Is that too much? I think it is. I am just curious if anyone else has ordered one of these and how much it costed them.

I can only give you an idea of what the prices are here in Canada, but I'd say your in the ballpark of what a skid spring and a clutch spring would run you.

I would have to think that's a fair price. Jmo though...

Its probably right on for pricing. Yamaha revised their parts pricing about 6 years ago and some parts went up as much as 4x. I know a jackshaft bearing was around $25 and after the increase they shot up to $99 and change. Crooks in my opinion. I usually out source or buy used when ever its feesable and practical. The guys at the local dealership are douches so I wouldnt give a damn if it closed the doors. Unless I give them the part number, they have no idea what im talking about.

true that throttlejunkie. feel the same way. not like it use to be back in the day with knowledgeable staff. bunch of kids run the one closest to me and spot on with giving a part # I'd rather deal with senior staff that's been around the block many times
yes you did,,,, thats 1/2 the price the skid is worth..............no action............

Ya Whammy that's what I thought. I sold a No Action with reinforced W Arm for $225.
I had to search on here to give the dealer the part number on the secondary spring.
Maybe I will just go on a diet. Lol. It would be cheaper.
