well since ive done some more research on triples on my 2003 viper, I wont be adding them for a few more years. so my question is, can I buy an aftermarket single pipe for my viper and not have to re clutch? and potentially not have to re jet...

changing the exhaust like that youl always want/need to rejet and clutch. As far as I know the only single pipe still being made is the bender and they have jet and clutch kits available just for that setup if your worried about the tuning involved.

not worth the money. There is negligible gain, that is why there is only 1 company that makes a pipe, and that one is suspect to make power on the trail. Stock single with stock muffler makes the best power.
If it is stock, first thing to do is a srx style torque arm, then clutching, while carbs are off, check jetting and float heights.
Make sure if this sled has had a track installed that it has clearance for the guards

I have a bender single pipe. The first gain was weight savings. It's probably 6-7 pounds lighter than the stocker. Free hp right there. Stock jetting was adequate. The pipe does cool off extremely fast, but holds heat when running. Because it's lighter , there is a slight difference in sound. The add one mentioned above are more cost effective enabling the power to get the the ground more efficiently.

What can do you have with it? and what did you do about clutching?

I am his brother,
He was running bender single pipe with can, 155 mains, needles on 3. Ran good but was not a huge noticeable gain for what it was worth. What was the biggest gain was the heel clickers with dalton 48-34 helix. When it hooked with this clutch set up it was a rocket.
