So I peeled my top end off awhile ago for a rering/maintaince, kinda can't remember where a few different size engine bolts go. It's been apart for a few months so it's a little cloudy.
Is it normal for the srx head bolts to be two different lengths? And if so, where do the longer ones go?
Also for the water rail, there's two different length bolts? Never sized it up, so it may be easy to figure out.
and I'm pretty sure the srx had copper washers underneath the head bolts as well.
do you guys trq bolts down other then the ones for the head/cylinders/crankcase. Meaning powervalves, exhaust, reed cages
im pretty sure I can find my answers from a microfiche but I can't operate that site from mobile.

The longer head bolts go where the aligning dowels go. The longer water rail bolts will be obvious when you look at it. Mag side is thicker

You will want to torque the reed cage bolts too, they will strip easily if you over do them, ask me how I know.As far as the power valve towers I don't usually torque them, they're small allen head bolts anyway so I just tighten them up.One thing I do do though is use a layer of silicon on the gasket surface,it helps to keep some of the weeping at bay and not make quite so much mess in the bellypan.Yes there are copper washers that go under the head bolts.
