Ive got an 01 SRX, trail ported, long travel front with Ohlins, currently has a 121 mono with 1.5 track. I ride the trails 95% of the time. I rode a rev xp last year (136?) and really enjoyed how it bridged the stutter bumps. I was thinking about rail extensions to 136 and getting a 1.22 ice attack. I've been doing some reading and some guys say that when they simply added rail extensions that it actually made their sled ride worse. Said it created geometry problems. (this wasnt a mono)

So whats the deal, am I going to be happy with extensions or do I need to go about it another route?

I would just get a doo skid! Can't go wrong. You'll get decent money for your mono. I don't know for sure but I would assume the rail extensions would absolutely mess with the geometry.

(As far as I know)The geometry is the same from a 121 to a 136 mono. There are 2 differences:
1. The top idler (that hold the track up off the skid) is moved backabout 4-6 inches, and is a seperate shaft.
2. The rails are longer. There are a couple small differences in the skid but no huge changes.
In doing my mono install, I used an attack (136) skid so I didnt need to extend it, but it was easily the best upgrade I ever did to my viper. Same locations for bolt holes and everything. Lots of info here on the swap out. Templates float around too. Let me know if you have more questions.

JDViper nailed it. Your set up is very similar to mine and I have been toying with the same idea (extending to 136). With the mono, extending the rails will not sacrifice the ride compliance from what I have read!
