Hi guys, new to the forum and Yamaha sleds. I just bought my 97 700SX and the guy I bought it from told me it has a bad stator. I did some testing and it confirms that I need another stator. My question is who has good luck with buying used OEM versus new aftermarket stators? I've found a couple on eBay but for the same price I can buy a new aftermarket with one year warranty. Just looking for feedback either way before I pull the trigger. My instinct says buy the new aftermarket since it has the warranty but I don't want to make it a regular thing to be replacing it if it's a sub par product. Thanks in advance!

Anybody else with experience with these? I can get a used one for $80 guaranteed to work (but for how long?) and a new one with one year warranty for double the price at $160. I'm looking to get one in the next month.

I'd buy used OEM before the aftermarket. My stator went out on my 97 700sx a couple of years ago, I went and bought brand new OEM, think it was around $250.

I think I'll go with the used OEM at the moment. I'd like to get the sled up and going to make sure it's solid before I drop that much on a new one, if I knew what I had in the sled it would be a different story. Thanks for the input.

i bought one from rmstator and no problems so far. but thats only about 1 month of driving. sled was hard starting before i replaced the stator with a new one.

i bought an aftermarket one. a used one off of a member when i was in a bind to get one in time for a ride. Think it puts out more than the stocker did actually. No problems so far..
