I am about to start this project. last year I bought a template from someone to drill the SRX tunnel for the install. I forget who I bought it from but they are from New Hampshire. Please contact me regarding doing this swap. Do I have to fabricate tunnel reinforcement plates for the front arm mounts?

Yes you will have to get some plate and make 2 mounting reinforcement plates that will have to be riveted in place.I used 1/8" stainless for mine.I have the chassis all tore down and if I can remember to I'll snap a couple pics of what I did to give you an idea of how to go about it.

If you are interested in mounting plates. http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/threads/97547-Mono-Shock-Mounting-Plates
03viperguy did the swap and it is in the tech section. http://www.totallyamaha.com/snowmobiles/aaTECH/Mono_Install/Project Monoshock.htm
It is really a pretty easy install.

This is how I made the plates for mine then riveted them in,plus I used the hole where the original centre skid mount used to be and put a bolt through it as well to give it more support.
I looked around my shed but can't find any more of the plate that I used,I had a bud get that stuff from where he used to work and I must've only had enough to do the one set.
