I'm looking to buy a mid 2000's RX1 ,Vector or Apex. I hear there was trouble with the 03 and 04 RX1's. I know the newer the better ,but I can't afford much past an 06 of any of these models. Besides the usual things to look out for when buying used, Do you have any recommendations on which one to look for and which ones to avoid.

Not sure about the vector but my cousin has a 04 rx1 and it drinks as much oil as my srx. If it was me I would choose the apex for the fuel injection along with the suspension.

There's lots of 06 apexs for sale in the $5k range on kijiji.
If you can afford it... stick with the 06 Apex or 05 RX1 ... 06 handles way better then the 05 and it more comfortable.

There's actually a few 06 apexs on there for around $4500 w/10-15k kilometres.
A couple of bucks

Get an Apex. Add a Power Commander and your in for some fun. It's just fun doing the tuning through a laptop.

They all have their problems, exhaust donuts, bushings, the list is a mike long. If you're an avid trail rider, the vector gets ridiculous fuel mileage, the apex I'd take second solely for the reason it's fuel injected.

If you not an over 100mph rider, stay with a vector, 08 or newer. It is on the apex chassis and the ride, handling, seat, bar placement and glove box is way better than the previous years. Great mileage as stated. stay away from rx1 sleds, they are a good sled, but when compared to a apex style, they are not.
