I have a 99 venture 500 and to my knowledge it has never had the plugs changed. it was bought new in 02 as a left over and to this day only has 120 miles on it it has br9es plugs in it but from what I can see online it calls for br9ecs 99 is the only year that the venture 500 calls for that plug what changed for just that 1 year that requires a plug that costs 3x as much

As to why i have no idea but the "c" means a different ground angle in this case lower. Not sure it would make any difference if you run es or ecs but one of the guys will. I know the ecs was ran in the SRX but i did now know about the venture. Here is a pretty good link about the ecs debate. http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/threads/1012-br9es-vs-br9ecs
