I have an SRV 540 and it lags a bit on the get go and then runs great, but after about 4-5 minutes, it begins to lose power but after a few seconds it will come back. you can sometimes thumb it out and it will run great Can anyone help me? im trying t find out what it is so i can fix before this winter. Looking for someone who knows more about these sleds than i do.

I'm gonna clean them again, and do you guys think it could be the ignition coil?

Check the in tank fuel filter. I have seen them come apart after many years and cause intermittent fuel flow problems to the carb.

check weights and bushings in the primary. mine did same thing. drove me nuts for a couple years. Asked about it here as well and had similar responses. Went through carbs, reeds, secondary, etc. etc. finally pulled primary and although they didnt look and feel too bad they were definately worn. You'll have to pull it apart to see the wear. Mine behaved exactly as you are describing. Replaced all the pieces ( will be about $250 -300 total) but now she runs great. apparently it was a weakness and were known for it ( as my yami dealer told me ) . good luck

a good clutch disassembly and cleaning with new primary spring would not hurt it as if it has the original spring, odds are it is weak.
