Recently found a 1981 Excel III with 1100 miles on it. It's been sitting in a barn but has been taken care of pretty well, fires right up.........or at least it used to. My son in all of his excitement and not knowing much about how the choke switch worked snapped it off. He didn't know that up was as far as it should go and snap......now it's on the workbench.
I looked around at various sites and EBay and based on what I find I need to buy the whole thing - from the knob that broke all the way down to where it connects to the carb. That doesn't seem right but maybe it is.............looking for some help.
I'm sure he's not the 1st kid that has snapped one of these off :)

Attached a couple pics of the broken knob and a pic of one I found on EBay although the tip going into the crab looks funky ??

Appreciate any help
Mike and Steven

You obviously know that you can take assembly apart, so i would get the whole cable and conbine the best parts of what you have. Or you can order a new cable at Port Yamaha for $27.33 part number 8L3-26331-00-00

TJ35 - Called and talked to a guy at Port..........pretty sure that's what I need so I'm going to give it a shot.
He said it includes flip up choke lever and cable and that I need to take off carb end parts and put on new.

Thanks for the info !!!
