When I ride my 1994 V-Max down the trail it seems to dart right or left. I think its due to not so tight steering up front. You can wiggle the handlebars a bit and the ski do not move at all. Probably a 1/4" of wobble in the handlebars. My question is, are those plastic inserts in the TSS front suspension the only thing I will have to replace, or are they other parts that are prone to be wearing out?? Balljoints and bolts? Thanks in advance!
You get best result if put new bushes to links is tss suspension. There are 2 bushes per link so its 6 per side. I cant attach a pic but its a part number 47 from online parts catalog in yamaha-motor.com pages (1996 vmax xt and see pic about front suspension). Bushes are same even in SRV.

Some years ago I purchased a shim kit for a Phazer that had a bunch of different shims so you could get the backlash in the steering just right. They went in the steering scissor pivot point. I can't remember where I got them from.

Royal distributing sells a front end shim kit.
I installed the shims in the wifes 94 vmax6 and it made a world of difference.
