Just bought a '95 Venture XL and it needs a little TLC. Has stock skis and the carbides are gone...what to do? Dually's, singles, do these dart? Where is the best place to get TSS bushing kits now? This thing has reverse too! Any special chaincase lube or 75-90 synthetic OK? Compression is 130 and it runs well as far as I can tell without snow. Rear suspension looks clean, anything to look for? Also when (looks ok right now) I replace the track what size lug can I use? What is the max stud size too?

Thanks guys this site rocks!

Pick up a pair of Vipers skis, Easy to mod to fit the TSS. Did this on my 96, great upgrade. Don't know anymore on bushings and the gear oil is fine. Key is to change it yearly.

Contact Yamaha Nutz. He has the hook up for tss bushing kits. Gear oil, atf, or any thing with lubricity will work fine in the chain case. Check the idler bearings and make sure the front and rear arms have no cracks and that all the shafts are free and moving. It would be worth while to pull the skid and lube EVERYTHING no matter how clean it looks.
I wouldnt run anymore than a 1" track and 1-1/4 stud. You may have clearance for more, but the Phazer/ventures are very fun as is. They have about 56hp so the bigger the lug, the more hp they eat up. Other folks have put larger lugs on these, but are more purposed built sleds.(deep snow). So if you want a fun, snappy, corner to corner sled, I personally wouldnt go any bigger than 1"
130lbs is perfect compression. Nothing to worry about there.

I have a pair of plastic Polaris skis off a '06 iq chassis....wonder if I could make these work. On a sled like this with a short lug track and no studs what Kind of runner do you run? Carbides at all?
