Hello everyone. I have a question in regards to a ski swap for the vmax. I have been told that you can directly replace the skis on my 97 vmax sx 700 with 2002 viper plastic skis. This will give me an upgrade in the steering of the sled. Is this true. Is there a lot of work to be done to convert this over. I have looked online and cannot find anything definite on this subject. I have access to a set of skis and I already know to get the bolts with it as the viper ones are a bit longer.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

They will bolt right up, the front end might sit just a little lower with the viper skis. Not sure if it will steer any better but it will make the sled lighter and the plastic skis will absorb the bumps better.

any of the newer Yamaha skis bolt right on with a new bolt. it does lower the front a 1/2" from stock but they do handle great.
