Like the tidal says im interested in putting reverse on my srx. First off is it even possible and second what machine will i need access to and finally what are all the pieces i need?
easy to do, keep your eye on this site, they come available often. check with viperking, he has them often. use search, you will find all the info you need. I did my SRXs last year...did the cable engagement....works great and no cutting hood!
So what sled should i be lookin for ?
What year is your SRX? 98 & 99 had a silent chain and gears so any reverse kit off a V Max or and model pro action chassis will fit. If yours is a 2000 and up you'll have HYVO gears and chain so it'll be a Viper reverse kit you'll be looking for. Actually a silent chain kit will fit and work fine,you'll just have to make sure you use silent gears because the two don't mix.

Mine is a 2000 srx.....so viper with reverse is whst i need. Heard mention on here someone was wanting the reverse kit that actuated with a cable vs a shifter handle. Is this an option from oem reverse or is what he is rwfring to an aftermarket thing?

The cable deal uses a parking brake mount and lever clamped to the throttle side and the cable fed to the reverse lever on the chaincase cover.There is a bracket that has to the fabbed up out of flat bar but other than that it's all pretty much bolting stuff on.There's a thread with pics doing this very mod and I have it saved somewhere,if I can find it I'll post it.

Well I thought I saved it but I can't find it,I even did a search but didn't see it. Maybe put a post up about the SRX reverse using a parking brake mod and the member that originally did it will chime in. I can't believe I don't have that thread,I figured on doing that very same thing once I managed to acquire a Viper reverse kit.

I'm trying to do this on my phone but can't figure it out. But if you open the link and when the page comes up,look in the top middle or even to the right of middle at some of the tabs there. One is titled thread tools I believe, click that and it'll give you options, click subscribe to thread and you'll have it in your subscribed threads so you can reference it whenever you need to.
