Hey guys I am wanting to convert my old secondary off my 1978 SRX to the newer secondary of a 1996 mountain max. Do I need to switch the jack shafts out ? It seems the original one is a bit shorter, maybe not. The way the secondary operate are different from each other maybe that's why it seems short. Any ideas would be awesome. Would also like to convert it to hydraulic brakes. Fire away with the comments I'm all ears. Thanks
I have done that on my 78 SRX and my 1980 SRX they have the same spline so all you need to do is shim it to get the correct offset, I also installed a comet 108 primary and use the same belt as the mountain max.

did you have to change out the jackshaft in order to run the secondary ? They say you can shim it out but it seems there is not much spline left to bite on.

WAYNO
Are you running hydraulic brakes on your SRX ? And if so did you have to change out the jackshaft for the conversion? I set the MMax secondary on my stock jackshaft and it seems that there is little spline left to bite on when you at least try yo eye ball the correct offset. Do you have to cut a spacer or what did you use? Thanks
