srx shocks

Was there a shock option when buying a new srx back in 2000? My 2000 has ohlines shocks but allot of pictures of even the same year of srx doesnt.

Don't quote me but I think Ohlins were an option. I believe the standard shock was KYB..................SRXtreme

Canadian SRX's were outfitted with the Ohlins shocks, our US partners had the option...

ohlins were free on a spring pre-order on the srx's down here in the states and the vin number on your sled will denote a factory installed ohlins set.

Interesting. .....so im assuming they are a better shock then the kyb?

Yes they are.The reason Ohlins were offered as an option in the US and were standard equipment on Canadian SRXs was the option of an extended warranty for US buyers.You could opt for one or the other on US sleds but for some reason Yamaha Canada didn't give us the option.
