may play with one on my 2002. i believe its a megapower 780. have heads also. will use stk pipes and carbs. be just a cheater play sled. what you guys have for info. performance, reliability, hp, etc. way in. 3:16x (yammie tony)

Tony, I had a Simmons on my 02 srx back in the mid 2000's. Stock pipes and carbs with Mega Power heads. Sled was a lot stronger in the midrange than stock and pulled nice to the top. I trail ride and the Wiseco's won't hold up like the stock pistons. I ended up going back to a set of Mega Power ported cylinders. The DCS worked fine on my 02.

Lots of consideration with the 780 as you already know. Tony is this a trail or drag sled? Mild or wild. What fuel are you gunna run? Comp ratio, squish, head cc? Come on make with the details. Your question is very open ended.

mac it was in a huge lot of yammie motor parts. its one of mark,s (mega power) 780, their were only heads and jugs there. i might play some. if i had to say, it looks like a trail port 780. 3:16x (yammie tony)

Was megapower the one that used the 550 cat pistons? Can they be used with the Wiseco instead?
I love 780s Tony. Mild to wild, done both. They can be very reliable depending on what it is and the power in a good setup is awesome

Tony - your gunna need to CC those heads. As you know they were made in different sizes. Typical SRX heads are 26cc and low comp. My mega heads are 24cc and measure 150-152 psi on the gauge on my Viper. Ive seen others guys discuss 22, 21, 20 at much higher psi. Once you figure out what you have.... then decide squish, squish angel, and if your going change or keep that CC volume. Also decide what fuel or blended octane should you decide to run higher comp domes. High comp motors are fun and cheap HP.

thanks mac. yes will be done right. staggs you have a pm. this motor was a wiseco piston motor. maxximum perf. used the cat 550 3;16x

I have been running Marks big bore for years. I have over 4,000 miles on the trails and lakes on the original build. I am running Bender Big Bore pipes and bored carbs. If you are looking for a set of race domes I have set I might part with.
