2002. Viper Currently running Hauck clutch kit with nuts and bolts on weights with Hauck power shift secondary. I am looking to change to heel clickers if that is the best setup for drag racing? Also not sure what kind of secondary setup I should be using?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Jim

Hauck secondary roller clutch. Some people like them some don't. Don't remember the angle off the top of my head but you can search mopar1rules for the angle list.

Why do you say that Joe? I really do know much about Yami clutches. I mainly play with 800 mod firecat.

If your going to use heel clickers and a roller secondary your gonna need alot smaller helix, and a silver secondary spring to try and hang onto the belt, the upshift is gonna be very fast and may overshift alot. A helix for use with that combo would need to be like a 48/36.

I would be more inclined to use a button secondary for drag racing and a helix like 50-40 if you have triple pipes on the viper, stock single pipe likely something like a 48-38.

Heel clickers are a very fast upshift weight and the reduced friction of the roller secondary will make a very rapid upshift and tend to get the clutchs in front of the engines powerband, thus overshifting. Since the heel already kinda acts like a multiangle helix, the helix can be smaller and still shift fast, and with the smaller angles youll be able to use less sec. tension because the smaller angle already is providing more bite on the belt in the secondary. I would use a button secondary for racing , rollers are awesome trail units though!

i use straight 38, and straight 39 on roller sec. for a viper with single pipe and heel clickers, works very well.
