Hey Guys. I just purchased my first sled - a 1994 VMAX 600DX. Im pretty excited for snow! She's in alright shape, but could use a little TLC which I plan on giving her.
The Forward/Reverse shifter operates, but there is a worn/broken bar attached to it that I'd like to repair. Unfortunately its no longer available from Yamaha. Can anyone tell me what this bar does exactly? Furthermore, can someone take a snapshot of theirs so I can see how to rebuild it?
It was tight getting my phone in there for a decent picture, so I did the best I could.
In the first picture, I believe the bar is sitting where it should under normal operation. In the second, its just a picture of the gold coloured flat stock bar hanging down to get a better view of what I need.
Thanks,
Chris

I can't see anything worn in your pic's. Go to port yamaha parts drawing and look up the part part no. It will also give you a clue as to what the part should look like. http://www.portyamaha.com/fiche_sec...Snowmobiles&make=Yamaha&year=1994&fveh=176153

Look for it on Ebay if someone doesn't have one on here.

Yeah.. It's too hard to tell from the photo but the bottom of that rod is worn right through. There is a reverse shifter available on eBay for a 2002 vmax. What's a good way to find out if parts are compatable? Is it a matter of looking up the part numbers from both machines to see if they are the same or is there another way?
